The last episode of the Göttingen “Tatort” has aired and the fan reactions online are divided.
But what did the ARD viewers like and what did they find objectionable about the crime thriller?
Göttingen - On Sunday (February 11, 2024), the last episode for the time being entitled “Tatort: Ghost Ride” was broadcast by the Göttingen branch of the ARD crime series.
Now it's over for the investigator duo, which consisted of Chief Inspector Charlotte Lindholm (played by Maria Furtwängler, 57) and Inspector Anaïs Schmitz (Florence Kasumba, 47).
Comments are once again piling up on the Internet: how did the last case from the university town in Lower Saxony reach the viewers?
A straight A: Many “Tatort” fans celebrate the final Göttingen criminal case
Whether intentionally or unintentionally, more and more actors are saying goodbye to the ARD “crime scene”.

Many fans think: Yes!
“It's been a really good 'crime scene' for a long time [...] A straight A!!,” writes a user on and realistic and sometimes taboo topics are excitingly implemented” or “A worthy farewell to Lindholm”.
But there are also critical voices.
The “crime scene” phenomenon
Since the first “Tatort” episode “Taxi nach Leipzig” was broadcast on November 29, 1970, the weekly crime series has developed into a true TV phenomenon and brings ARD an audience of millions with each new episode.
To date, an impressive 102 investigators have appeared on the successful show - with the Munich duo Ivo Batic (Miroslav Nemec, 69) and Franz Leitmayr (Udo Wachtveitl, 65) recording the most missions.
Of the 22 constantly changing locations and teams - including Ludwigshafen, Vienna, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Zurich and Bremen - Frank Thiel (Axel Prahl, 63) and Prof. Dr.
Dr.
Karl-Friedrich Boerne (Jan Josef Liefers, 59) from Münster was the most popular, as a survey by

from 2022 showed.
Despite negative votes: ARD “Tatort” regularly wins ratings
“Sets too sterile, everything a bit too intentional.
Overall 3-4,” writes a dissatisfied “Tatort” fan.
“It was ok, even though Furtwängler isn’t an actress, she’s just the woman from Burda, she can only do one facial expression,” commented another disappointed ARD viewer.

Even if opinions are divided: For many, the ARD series is still number one today.
The crime series regularly manages to assert itself against other TV formats: recently the Munich “Tatort” won the ratings duel against the RTL jungle camp countdown.
