Highlights: Kurhaus expansion and senior center in focus. Bad Tölz has planned a lot of investments this year too. There is money in the budget for the Kurhaus expansion, but also for citizen participation in Lettenholz. A building saver (1.2 million) and 150,000 higher loan repayments are also pending. The latter are caused by the unforeseeable borrowing for the acquisition of the Maxlweiher area. A total of 1.5 million euros will be repaid. Around 1.4 million euro will go into the planning (service phase 7) for the expansion of the spa building.

The city of Bad Tölz has planned a lot of investments this year too.

There is money in the budget for the Kurhaus expansion, but also for citizen participation in Lettenholz.

Bad Tölz – Still stable income, but significantly increased expenses characterize the 2024 budget of the city of Bad Tölz.

Four million euros more than planned in the financial plan (i.e. 8.9 million) are on the investment list.

This includes another two million euro addition to the special reserve for the senior center, which is to be built in place of the Josefistift.

A building saver (1.2 million) and 150,000 higher loan repayments are also pending.

The latter are caused by the unforeseeable borrowing for the acquisition of the Maxlweiher area.

A total of 1.5 million euros will be repaid.

1.4 million euros will go into planning the Kurhaus expansion

What are the big projects in 2024?

Around 1.4 million euros will go into the planning (service phase 7) for the expansion of the spa building and the redesign of the outdoor areas.

The depot will receive a new narrow-gauge vehicle (winter service) for 300,000 euros, and the dilapidated heating system of the Franziskuszentrum will be replaced with district heating for 370,000 euros and connected to the municipal utility routes.

Among the purchases worth mentioning are 75,000 euros for the microphone system in the town hall meeting room, which keeps failing.

In addition, “Sennheiser” no longer offers spare parts.

For the same reason, the entrance and exit pillars and so-called barrier trees at the Isarkai, Schloßplatz and parking garage parks must be replaced (180,000 euros).

Citizen participation in Lettenholz

In the discussion in the finance committee, Karsten Bauer (CSU) wanted to know how the tourism (FFV) contribution had developed compared to the time before Corona and whether the new hotel on the Wackersberger Höhe could already be seen in the current figures.

No to the latter, said treasurer Silke Furmanek.

This is visible in the spa fee, which was not mentioned in the key data.

Before Corona (2020), the FVV contribution - based on sales and profits - was 822,000 euros, in 2018 it was 848,000 euros.

0.85 million euros are scheduled for 2024.

The budget also earmarks 30,000 euros for citizen participation in Lettenholz.

The event is on Monday, February 19th at 7 p.m. in the district office.

Christine Brandl wanted the number explained.

An agency accompanies the city at information events, citizens' meetings, evaluation of the results and moderation, explained town hall spokeswoman Birte Stahl.

Willi Streicher (SPD) asked whether the Weilheim building authority could also provide a small subsidy.

“Is there a glimmer of hope?” Probably not, clarified building authority manager Christian Fürstberger.

“It’s not about the bypass, but about the development of the district.

That’s our business.”

Storm damage insurance for public buildings

Another question from Streicher concerned insurance for public buildings.

Until now, the city had not insured its buildings against storm damage and, according to Mayor Ingo Mehner, had done well with it.

“It was cheaper for us.” In the long run and in view of the climate forecasts, this practice will probably have to be reconsidered, said Streicher, referring to the girls' school, where the roof currently needs to be replaced.

That will happen this year, assured Mehner.

The low investment rate gave Anton Mayer (CSU) a headache.

He advised cutting back on the municipality's voluntary services.

Mehner was “grateful for this appeal: We have to operate economically in the administration and the city council.”

However, Peter von der Wippel (FWG) recommended tackling investments boldly and thereby securing the future.

He also asked what the budget item “Implementation of the new CI” was all about.

A total of 40,000 euros are earmarked for the new corporate design/city brand, explained Furmanek.
