The man, of French nationality, presented himself this Tuesday, around 12:30 p.m., at the La Rochelle police station, announcing that he wanted to file a complaint,
the La Rochelle prosecutor's office told Le
Figaro .
Barely arriving, he attacked a police officer with a knife, slightly injuring his hand, before being overpowered by the other officers present and then being arrested.
Unknown to intelligence services
During the events, the individual, who does not have a criminal record and is not known to territorial intelligence, did not say anything advocating terrorism, the prosecution also indicates.
The victim was evacuated by firefighters and the individual placed in police custody.
