Daycare staff are urgently needed almost everywhere.
In Allershausen, necessity was the mother of invention: they now hit the jackpot there – with speed dating.
Allershausen
- There was a lot on offer in the Allershausen daycare centers on Saturday: A well-attended open day for parents in the morning was followed by speed dating from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for all those who can imagine working in a municipal daycare center themselves - Lateral entrants included.
To everyone's great surprise, there were quite a few: around a dozen interested people were shown the facilities and explained everything that the job of a teacher is all about.
Surprised by the interest
In the “Pusteblume” kindergarten, Anna Gillhuber, idea generator and initiator of the campaign, was pleased with the response.
At the Dandelion, several interested people also got an idea of the facility and what working in a daycare center entails.
Gillhuber, who is the chairwoman of a parents' initiative at the Pusteblume children's home, explained to the FT shortly after 1 p.m. that four or five interested parties were already there and had a look around the "Pusteblume" and the "Fridoline" crèche.
She later concluded, not without pride: “Overall it went well, we didn’t expect so much.”
There were no firm commitments at “Pusteblume”, but according to director Anita Ziegner, some of the participants can definitely imagine starting in a daycare center in Allershausen.
These include not only career changers, but also skilled workers who are still employed elsewhere but are not averse to a change.
Their intention was to “take a quick look and take a look.”
Two women immediately say “yes”
In contrast, in the “Spatzennest” kindergarten, which took part in speed dating just like the St. Josef kindergarten and the Johanniter day care center, head Marion Ellenbrock and her team could hardly believe their luck.
After less than an hour, the campaign was already crowned with success.
Of the five or six people who were interested, three more or less spontaneously decided to undergo appropriate retraining.
An agreement had already been reached in advance with a single mother who lives in Kranzberg.
The veterinary assistant Stefanie Stauber (39) and the speech therapist Eman Mahdy (34) spontaneously decided to retrain as educators during a tour.
“It’s perfect, it couldn’t have gone better,” said Ellenbrock about the speed dating.
So it's no surprise that the assessment of CSU local councilor Bianca Kellner-Zotz, who supported Anna Gillhuber in the campaign, is also positive.
“Everyone was really excited and happy about the response,” she said when asked by the FT.
This was a great success for the first time and a model that could set a precedent.

According to Kellner-Zotz, there is a high probability that there will be a new edition of speed dating.
You can never have enough daycare staff in Allershausen.
For example, a new four-group daycare center is currently planned, which will be called “Amperspatzen” and will essentially become a branch of the “Spatzennest”.
Mayor Martin Vaas recently declared that he wanted to pull out all the stops.
Among other things, an image film was made for it, which can be seen at www.spatzennest-allershausen.de.
