Colonel (resp.) Ziv Chen fell yesterday (Monday) in a battle in the southern Gaza Strip, and he was 27 years old when he died. Chen, a resident of Kfar Saba, left behind his wife Hillel and his parents Avraham and Rosa. "He was an angel from heaven, just a week and a half ago He and his wife told the family members that she was pregnant," shared Chen's uncle, Danny.
"He was an elite child," said Danny. "At the age of 18, he was already teaching in a yeshiva, really teaching.
He did the army, studies, everything.
He was a man of giving, a man of indescribably vast knowledge, a real elevation in an unusual way.
He would answer every question in a matter-of-fact and eloquent way.
He was a man above his wits and it is impossible to explain it.
My brother is broken and broken now.
Their world fell."
"He didn't say much when he left the house refreshed from the fighting.
He was not one of the Swiss, but a different kind of person.
He was the salt of the earth," he added.

The Hesder yeshiva in Yeruham, where Ziv studied, paid tribute to him: "Light instruments and lions have grown to make their will rise up and make a sharp object. It is with great sorrow and a broken heart that we were informed of the fall of our dear and beloved student Ziv Chen Hid (23) in Gaza." Oren Hirschhorn, Ziv's friend, wrote On Facebook: "Messages from the army open with 'Allowed to publish'.
But there are also the messages from the yeshiva.
Just see the title of 'Eagles are light and mariots have increased' and you turn pale.
Ziv Chen
Oh god.
Who would have believed."
The mayor of Kfar Saba, Rafi Sa'ar, said: "Besides the good news from yesterday morning about the rescue from captivity of our townsman Fernando Merman, who was rescued in a heroic action together with Louis Herr, we were informed of the fall of Ziv, who fought fiercely and left us all in pain and pain
Our hearts go out to the family and his memory will be in our hearts forever.
May his memory be blessed."
His funeral will be held today at 12:00 in the military cemetery in Kfar Saba.
