The leader of the LFI deputies, relying on calculations from the communist newspaper according to which 17 ministers out of 34 are millionaires, accuses the executive of “wanting to pursue a policy of war against the people”.

The leader of the LFI deputies Mathilde Panot criticized on Tuesday a government made up of

“17 millionaire ministers out of 34”

and which is waging a

“war against the people”

, repeating calculations from the daily

L'Humanité

.

“Half of the ministers, 17 out of 34, are millionaires”

and are part of the

“richest 5% (of French people”)

, affirmed Malthilde Panot during her group’s press briefing.

“You are never better served than by yourself.

Those who are in government today continue to want to pursue a policy of war against the people who serve them

,” she said.

Mathilde Panot relies on calculations from the communist newspaper

L'Humanité

, even if the ministers' new asset declarations will only be made public in approximately six months, after their submission and the control of the High Authority for the Transparency of Life public (HATVP).

Frank Riester and Amélie Oudéa-Castéra at the top of the

L’Humanité rankings

For the reappointed ministers,

L'Humanité

was able to rely on their previous declarations.

For the others, the newspaper made its own calculations taking into account their past functions.

The newspaper ranks Franck Riester (Foreign Trade) and Amélie Oudéa-Castéra (Sports and Olympics) at the top of the ranking of the richest ministers: the first for his family car dealership business, the second for a house in Paris and a portfolio of actions, notably at Axa and Carrefour, where she worked.

Their heritage was known since they already held ministerial functions before.
