You don't experience that every day at a village carnival ball!
A top pop star smuggled himself into the guests in excellent disguise - and then took the stage.
Würmlach – In the big carnival and carnival strongholds (here we report from Cologne) the foolish goings-on are just as much a part of the tradition as in the smaller ones.
The visitors to the “Salam Aleikum” event in Würmlach (market town of Kötschach-Mauthen in Carinthia) will not soon forget the evening.
This is not only due to the musical background provided by the band “Wolayersee Echo”.
But rather the surprise appearance of a top pop star known from radio and television: Melissa Naschenweng (33).
Schlager star Melissa Naschenweng visits the village carnival in Austria and surprises her dad
The Carinthian is very close to her homeland.
This is evident from the fact that she also enjoys cycling through the Lesachtal or attending local events privately.
She has now done that in Würmlach - to surprise a person who is very close to her heart: her father.
She documented the great campaign via
.
Naschenweng disguised himself well, with a wig and a mask.
After all, that was the dress code.
The poster said “masking encouraged.”
This also came in handy for the pop singer so that she wouldn't be recognized straight away.
So she smuggled herself into the small carnival event where her father Andreas Müllmann was supposed to perform with his band.
She herself described her plan as follows: “Nobody had any idea what I planned to do yesterday.
I was at the carnival ball and my dad created a great atmosphere with his Wolayerseers... what he didn't know was that I was also among the guests and it was whispered to him that a fan would like to sing with him.
See for yourself.”

Schlager star Melissa Naschenweng sings with her father's band - the audience cheers
She showed up to the band with a handwritten sign “May I sing a compliment?”
At some point, of course, the dad recognized his masked daughter - and it also dawned on the other guests that one of Austria's biggest hit stars was appearing on stage.
“It’s not that easy to sing when so many emotions arise and a dad is happy to tears,” she remembers afterwards.
But to the cheers of the audience, she puts on a successful performance.

“You succeeded in the surprise.
I have tears in my eyes because I don’t get to experience this every day,” he says into the microphone.
After that, Naschenweng's mask can finally stay down and she has fun for a while: cheering on her dad's band as the biggest fan.
Or dance on the dance floor with a gentleman.

With comments like "That shows again that you're as down to earth as you always were!", "That's sooooo sweet!!!!", "You're awesome" and "Dear Melissa, I think that would be... Every father is proud as hell,” is how fans react to the campaign with “goosebumps.”
Which she has really succeeded in doing.
Recently, Melissa Naschenweng delighted her followers without make-up and without pants.
