Green light for additional apartments in a prominent residential and commercial building in Weilheim's old town.
Weilheim - One should be grateful "that someone is tackling something like this, taking care of the monument and creating living space in the old town": With this in mind, the building committee of the Weilheim city council approved some changes to the development plan last summer that are necessary for planned renovations Residential and commercial building at Admiral-Hipper-Straße 5, in the middle of Weilheim's old town.
A total of five to six apartments are planned
As reported, some changes are planned in the building, which is part of a listed ensemble and whose property at the back extends to Eisenkramergasse: The building applicant would like to expand the existing shop on the ground floor to the north and on the upper floors, including expanding the attic as a whole create five to six residential units.

No objections from the neighborhood
In the public participation in changing the development plan, there were “no objections or suggestions,” it was said at the most recent building committee meeting in Weilheim town hall.

He found this objection “a bit petty and also arbitrary,” said SPD representative Horst Martin in the building committee - and agreed with most of his colleagues on the committee: The committee decided to stick with the agreed development plan changes and rejected it This rejects the objection of the monument protection authority.
The planned renovation does not contradict the concerns of monument protection, emphasized CSU city councilor Klaus Gast, who also acts as the district administrator: The planning is “okay”.
Maintaining the monument, Gast added, “also includes being able to use it sensibly.”
