The ZDF presenter Dunja Hayali was verbally and racistly attacked by a young person in the Dortmund subway.

She posted this on Instagram.

Dortmund – For Dunja Hayali (49), what was apparently a nice day ended with a racist insult.

The ZDF presenter, whose parents come from Iraq, announced this herself on her social media channel.

There she expressed concern and thoughtfulness about her experience.

Dunja Hayali experiences racist insults on the subway

Dunja Hayali posts a post on Instagram whose headline doesn't bode well.

“Germany for the Germans, foreigners out!”

writes about a picture in which only half of her

can be seen.

The background suggests that she is in the subway.

The 49-year-old, who also had clear words in the debate about Till Lindemann in the middle of last year, begins to report on the photo: “I took the subway in Dortmund with a friend on Friday.

We had luggage with us, we were tired from the women's carnival, but also excited to have just spent a few hours with the family and were looking forward to the sofa, the series, our feet up."

But this mood was suddenly over: a group of four girls and a boy with “bottles of liquor in their hands” wanted to leave the subway at a stop.

Before they got out, a girl shouted in their direction the sentence already quoted above: “Germany for the Germans, foreigners out”.

A behavior that made Hayali's questions just run through his head: “Am I saying something?

What do I say?

Am I messing with her?

How do I mess with her?

Do I have to film this?

Am I putting my companion in danger?

What do I do with my luggage?

Is it provocation or position?

Is it worth dealing with drunken idiots now?”.

Dunja Hayali's fans discuss the right reaction after a racist insult

But before she could react, the doors were closed again and the group got out.

But now she's a little bit worried that she didn't go after them.

According to her post, the lack of reaction from other people on the subway also bothered Hayali.

The fans showed compassion and solidarity in the comments under the post.

Phrases like “Oh my God, how bad.

The non-reactions leave me speechless.

It's nice that you and your friend are doing well," you can read there, but also requests to defend yourself: "Always get up, say something, don't put up with it.

For Dunja, for everyone.”

But there are also opposite opinions: “I think that in your situation I wouldn't have messed with the drunk young people either.

If this escalated, you might be putting yourself and those you accompany in danger.”

ZDF recently had to change its plans at short notice because of Dunja Hayali.
