33,000 fools celebrated Carnival Sunday in Marktoberdorf - mostly peacefully.

But it still didn't work without the police.

Marktoberdorf – At the 56th edition of the Gaudiwurm it became clear once again on Sunday that Marktoberdorf is way ahead when it comes to carnival.

The Gaudiwurm is the largest carnival parade in Swabia.

Behind Nuremberg and Würzburg, the Ostallgäu district town ranks third in Bavaria.

Good report from the police for the Gaudiwurm: The carnival parade with 1,500 participants went “without any problems”, explains the Swabia South/West Presidium.

It's obvious that with so many people celebrating, it's not possible without the police.

During the subsequent carnival hustle and bustle in the city center, the law enforcement officers had to file isolated reports of criminal and administrative offenses, including two cases of sexual harassment, one trespassing incident, damage to a vehicle, disturbing the peace and a violation of the bar license.
