Thousands of partygoers surged through Ebersberg city center on Shrove Tuesday.

The participants in the carnival procession impressed with their great attention to detail.

Ebersberg

– Appreciating crowds is a political issue in light of recent demos.

Also yesterday at the carnival parade through Ebersberg city center.

But it is undisputed that the masses of fools had filled Marienplatz and Eberhardstrasse well.

According to police estimates, around 5,000 people swayed, swayed and toasted through the district town wearing colorful costumes.

The almost spring-like weather seemed to have a certain magnetic effect on the outside.

There have been quieter carnival finales.

As the second slowest in Bavaria, the Ebersberg tax office lost its fat during the carnival procession through the district town.

“Work and earn, pay taxes and die,” was written on the trolley of the Laufinger regulars’ table.

20 floats and walking groups with different mottos

The train was around 20 cars strong, led by the Ebersberg imperial couple Franz and Sissi on foot and traditionally ended with the Ebersberg tourist train.

In between: large and small wagons, many traveling discos from the boys' clubs all around, but also foot groups like the marching band of the Kolping family Ebersberg, which bravely played the "Kölle-Alaaf" song "Dennwenn et Trömmelche jeht" against the flood of basses.

By the way, they have already been there live in Cologne eight times.

Political messages in homeopathic doses - AfD, traffic lights and the tax office

Speaking of which: While the Rhenish carnival procession on Rose Monday this year was filled with a lot of political messages, there were only traces of anything similar yesterday.

At the front of the train, for example, a Björn Höcke dressed as a democrat marched along, raising both arms in a salute, dragging the Basic Law behind him on the ground: "I'm dressing up as a democrat," it said pointedly on his back.

Asterix, Obelix and their friends thought about how the country could still be saved.

“If Germany hits the wall, we will bring the magic potion,” was the message from the Ebrachtal traditional costumers who had mutated into Gauls.

What do you have against officials who don't do anything?

Inscription on the car of the Laufinger regulars' table to the Ebersberg tax office

The only (local) political vehicle this year targeted the local tax office - and its second place in the ranking of the slowest tax offices in Bavaria.

“What do you have against officials, they don’t do anything?” was the caustic question.

You can't say that they're not doing anything.

After all, there were “officials” sitting on the carnival float at the Laufinger regulars’ table who spent the working day studying the Ebersberger Zeitung and looking at pin-up girls.

Our biased comment: You can also spend your free time in more pointless ways;

That's what we mean by reading, of course.

As compensation, the carnival officials brought schnapps to the tax-paying carnival people.

Circus, Mad Max and Peter Pan: colorful excursions into fantastic worlds

The colorful, non-political floats were also a real show.

For example, the fantastic Peter Pan world of the child prince couple of the Grafingen carnival bears or the wildly shaking Hohenlinden circus “Barbarella”.

And the crashing apocalyptic party on the fire-breathing “Mad Max” vehicle of the Eichhofen boys also impressed with its full roar of celebration.

Experience shows that on Shrove Tuesday in Ebersberg this extends well towards Ash Wednesday.

This time Marienplatz remained closed until morning so as not to have to drive away the fools.

The city planned the sweep for five a.m. - by the construction yard, which bravely removed the leftovers from the celebration.
