There is great solidarity among the people in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district for those who have found themselves in need through no fault of their own.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – There is war in many parts of the world.

Millions of people are suffering from bloody conflicts, fleeing deadly hail of rockets and other acts of violence.

In comparison, the economic hardship of some men and women in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district appears insignificant and small.

But they, too, who have fallen into a fatal downward spiral through no fault of their own, need help.

The result of the latest fundraising campaign “Readers Help Help” by Isar-Loisachbote/Geretsrieder Merkur and Tölzer Kurier shows once again: There is great solidarity in the district.

A total of 155,136.87 euros were received in the accounts at Sparkasse Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and Raiffeisenbank im Oberland.

The local newspapers would like to say a big thank you to every donor!

“God bless you,” we say again to the musicians who served the good cause at the “Between the Years” benefit concert at the Holzwirt in Ascholding at the beginning of January.

Our fundraising campaign proves year after year that, in addition to four-digit transfers, many small amounts also add up to an impressive sum.

Here a club collects money at the Christmas party, there a small craft business foregoes gifts for its customers - and even district citizens who are financially not on a bed of roses themselves do their part to help alleviate the worries and fears of the future of others.

What you need to know is that the two editorial teams at Isar-Loisachbote/Geretsrieder Merkur and Tölzer Kurier ensure that the money gets to the people who need it so urgently in an unbureaucratic and timely manner.

The two local newspapers work closely with trustees such as Caritas and other charitable institutions as well as representatives of the churches.

We protect the anonymity of people who turn to us for help.

We do not report on all fates.

If so, this happens with the express consent of those affected, whose names we change in the articles that are published.

Her partner died and she lost her job – “I collapsed”

An example: Silvia K., whose usual life collapsed like a house of cards after a few bad strokes of fate.

Her partner became seriously ill and she lost her job – “I collapsed”.

With the help of the “Readers Help Help” campaign, Silvia K. got back on her feet, gained new courage to face life and has legitimate hopes of being able to work again this year.

We also reported on Katharina P., who can barely make ends meet on her meager pension.

After an accident, her situation worsened dramatically.

Katharina P. broke her hip in a fall.

An operation and two rehabilitation stays followed.

Ultimately, doctors diagnosed her with damage that will last her life.

“The orthopedists say it won’t heal.” She needs, among other things, non-prescription medication.

They cost 60 euros a month - thanks to “Readers Help Help” the pensioner can sleep a little more peacefully.

By the way: Everything from the region is also available in our regular Wolfratshausen-Geretsried newsletter.

Often it's not the overwhelming rent debt or the exorbitant costs of a life-threatening illness.

It is not uncommon for these to be amounts that many people can easily get from the famous petty cash box or spend on a restaurant meal with friends.

Rita M. from Geretsried worked in geriatric care for many years.

Now, at age 75, the pension is only enough to cover mandatory expenses.

“Since my husband died a year and a half ago, there has been no one to entertain me other than the television,” says M. in an interview with our newspaper.

But the device gave up the ghost and the Geretsrieder woman didn't have the money to buy a new one.

Thanks to your solidarity, dear readers, the problem was solved within a few hours.

Finally, the editorial team would like to thank the following donors: the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen rural women's association, Joachim Wolf Jr., Karin Kühn, Benedikt Demmel, Anna Elisabeth Mayer, Katharina Margreiter, Kaspar Waldherr, Hans-Peter and Cornelia Schleicher, Martina Kugler, Josef and Anastasia Pelger, Adalbert Melichar and Johann Reiser.

The well-filled donation pot makes it possible for the editorial teams to also help in the current year where help is urgently needed.
