France submitted a written proposal to Lebanon to end the fighting between Hezbollah and Lebanon - according to a document obtained by the Reuters news agency, which is the first written proposal submitted to Beirut at the end of weeks of Western mediation efforts.
According to the proposal, the fighters of the Radvan unit will withdraw to a distance of up to ten kilometers from the northern border.
The document was delivered to senior Lebanese officials, including Prime Minister Najib Mikati, by French Foreign Minister Stephane Sjourn last week, according to four senior Lebanese officials and three French officials.
The purpose of the proposal is to prevent the conflict from "getting out of control" and to reach a ceasefire, "when the conditions are right".
Later, France offers negotiations to end the border disputes between Israel and Lebanon.
Hezbollah officially rejects the possibility of holding peace talks on the border until the end of the war in Gaza, a position that a representative of the Shiite organization repeated in response to questions about the Reuters report.
