The Riverkings are moving into the play-offs!

Thanks to two wins against the Devils from Ulm/Neu-Ulm, the Landsbergers have the chance to prove themselves against Peißenberg next weekend

Landsberg - In the first game of the “Pre Play-Off” series against the Devils in the Landsberg ice stadium, the guests initially had chances, but failed due to the strong Landsberg goalie Moritz Borst.

Florian Stauder's momentum began in the seventh minute of the game: He made it 1-0, and just three minutes later he increased the score to 2-0.

In the second third the game became increasingly disjointed and no goals were scored.

That changed in the final third: First Frantisek Wagner scored to make it 3-0, shortly afterwards Lars Grözinger deflected a shot from Edgar Protcenko to make it 4-0 - both goals were in the majority for Landsberg.

In the end, the guests were able to score twice again, and the Riverkings also improved: the final score was 5:2.

In the second game, the Riverkings delivered a not too rosy first third to the 250 fans who had traveled with them.

Ulm put the cautious Landsbergers under massive pressure.

In the twelfth minute of the game the home team scored 1-0, followed shortly afterwards by 2-0.

When it was 3-0 shortly afterwards, the Riverkings were visibly unsettled.

In the second third, the HCL seemed to pull itself together and acted more researcher.

Shortly before the end of the third, Tobias Wedl made it 3-1 with a remarkable long-range shot - the starting signal for a furious final third.

Landsberg took the initiative and increased it to 3-2 through Dennis Neil, who shortly afterwards brought the score level - into extra time.

Here Frantisek Wagner was able to finish single-handedly to make the final score 3:4.

The celebrated winning goal also meant play-off qualification.

Coach Martin Hoffmann: “I am proud of my team.

We didn't start the game well, but we fought back brilliantly and then in the end we were perhaps a bit lucky but deserved to win." In the "Best of Seven" series, the Riverkings will face TSV Peißenberg away on Friday at 8 p.m.

The first home game is - depending on the ice gala date - Saturday at 6 p.m. or Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
