Moshe Arbel, the Minister of the Interior, will arrive tomorrow (February 13) to the Interior and Environmental Protection Committee in the Knesset with a recommendation to hold the postponed special elections in 9 regional councils that were vacated as a result of the war to November 19, 2024.
As a reminder, the government decided on local elections throughout the country on February 27, 2024 except in the municipalities who were evacuated or damaged as a result of the war.
The Minister of the Interior is now making his recommendation for a new election date in the settlements of Eshkol, the Upper Galilee, the Ashkelon Coast, the entrances to the Hermon, Meta Asher, Ma'ale Yosef, Marom HaGalil, Sdot Negev and Shaar HaNegev.
Although there is still no outline for the return of the answers to the conflict returns, the Minister of the Interior asks the Knesset's Interior Committee to create certainty in setting an election date, towards the end of 2024.
