Washington - Former US President Donald Trump is taking legal action against an appeals court's decision that he does not enjoy immunity for his actions in office.
Trump's lawyers filed a motion with the Supreme Court on Monday, February 12, seeking a stay of the ruling.
The 77-year-old wants to move into the White House again for the Republicans and begin his second term as US President.
With the lawsuit, he is now playing for time: Trump wants to ensure that his trial for attempted election fraud in Washington is delayed.
What happens next is unclear.
Several scenarios are conceivable that could partially help Trump in the 2024 US election campaign - or have far-reaching consequences for a possible term as US President.
