Weather forecast for the first month of spring: Weather expert expects “March winter”
February could even be warmer than March, predicted meteorologist Dominik Jung from

“March winter is approaching,” explained the weather expert.
This refers to a late onset of winter with frosty temperatures.
Snow is also not uncommon in March.
February currently has an average temperature of 6.6 degrees, while the average temperature for March from 1991 to 2020 was only 4.6 degrees.
Jung speaks of a real “cold shock”, as February is particularly mild this year.
Although March is forecast to be 0.5 to 1 degree warmer than the climate average in much of the country, the first month of spring is still likely to be colder than February.

February is clearly too mild: a change in the weather is imminent in March
Mild air masses are currently sweeping over Central Europe.
This means spring-like temperatures, especially in the coming days of February.
“It continues to be unusually mild for the current time of year,” said Jung.
The German Weather Service (DWD) expects temperatures of up to 19 degrees in Breisgau despite the rain.

The weather change is coming at the end of February.
The temperatures are expected to be “slightly colder than before,” according to the DWD.
The thermometer drops to four to six degrees in the middle of the country.
Light rainfall is also expected in many places.
There could be frost in some regions at night - another indication of a possible March winter.
