They are demanding, just like the farmers, an end to the tax on non-road diesel (NGR).

Since Friday February 9, craftsmen in the Building and Public Works sector have been blocking the Brest oil depot.

After the blockade of that of Lorient (Morbihan), in progress since January 25, subject to a judicial decision expected this Tuesday, that of the city of Ponant is in turn paralyzed.

The result of a “strategy” according to construction workers which has the consequence of drying up the service stations in the Breton tip.

The oil depots of Brest and Lorient are the two main ones in Lower Brittany, the other large Breton depot being located in the country of Rennes, almost three hours' drive away.

“Thirty stations are out of fuel out of 147,” specifies the prefect, Alain Espinasse, who is carefully following the difficulties in supplying fuel to service stations reported throughout the department.

According to him, “these difficulties, which remain occasional, essentially result from the effects of an influx of road users towards service stations.

This is therefore not a situation of fuel shortage, the supply of service stations being guaranteed over time, despite the ongoing blockages of the oil depots in Brest and Lorient.

Alternative solutions would be actively implemented by most suppliers, who turn to other depots (Donges, near Saint-Nazaire, or Verne-sur-Seiche, near Rennes) to replenish their stocks.

“As supply times are longer, there may therefore be effects of temporary interruption of station supply for certain distributors, but which are not expected to last and can only be accentuated by excess supply reserves. consumer precaution,” insists the prefect.

He therefore calls for “civility and the responsibility of each person”.

Motorists are invited to follow the evolving fuel situation in real time at the department's service stations on the website www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr.

For its part, the CNATP 29, the National Chamber of Public Works and Landscape Craftsmen of Finistère, was not currently planning to lift the blockage.

“Things are finally moving, hour by hour,” said Stéphane Jézéquel, its president, on Tuesday, “but, for the moment, things are not there.”
