“I couldn't control the impulse to kill”: a Nevada teenager is accused of murdering her father and younger brother

A 17-year-old Nevada teen has been arrested on murder and other criminal charges after she called police in Reno and said she shot and killed her father and autistic younger brother because

"He couldn't control the urge to kill someone," according to court documents.

The incident occurred early Friday afternoon, according to a probable cause statement filed in the case and obtained by Reno-based NBC News affiliate KRNV.

The man killed by multiple gunshot wounds was identified by the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office as Justin Reid, 39, according to the local station.

A neighbor called police around 4:11 p.m. and reported hearing gunshots.

Three minutes later, authorities received another call from another person:

“I shot my dad,” followed by “I shot my brother

,” the document states.

The teen told officers she was outside and had dropped her gun, a Walther PPS, inside the home, according to the probable cause statement.

When asked why she had shot her relatives, the caller said: “I couldn't control the impulse to kill someone,” the document read.

The agents who responded to the scene found the child, 4 or 5 years old, with a gunshot wound to the head in a chair.

The young woman directed them to the garage, where Reid was with gunshot wounds to his chest and back.

The young woman explained to the police, according to court documents obtained by the KRNV network, that she sent her father to get food for dinner and, while he was away, she searched on Google how to use a gun.

When Reid returned he was shot, according to the documents, and then the girl allegedly ended the boy's life while he was playing with a tablet on the couch, according to the documents.

The minor told the agents that her mother left in December and she was feeling extreme depression;

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office inmate information website shows another attempted murder charge.
