While the AfD is holding an event in the community center on Saturday, a broad alliance in Unterschleißheim is protesting for diversity in society.

Unterschleißheim – On Saturday, February 17th, opinions differ on the town hall square.

While the AfD is inviting people to an event in the town hall, two counter-demonstrations are planned.

According to the police, the topic of the AfD event at 6.30 p.m. is “The influence of current agricultural policy on our farmers”.

Andreas Winhart, AfD member of the state parliament, speaks.

District and city councilor Peter Kremer (AfD) has also registered an information stand in front of the town hall from 5 p.m.

At the same time, the “Unterschleissheim is colorful” alliance invites you to the “For Democracy and Diversity” demonstration from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Many organizations have joined and are represented on the poster: Caritas, KJR, Gleis1, Catholic and Protestant parish associations, ViViD, NBH, AWO, ADFC, Gestalten Inspiren Unterschleißheim, Animal Welfare Association, BN, Umbrella Poets, Hockey Nerds, Summer Storm, Pfennigparade, Helpers' Circle Oberschleißheim, Johann-Schmid-Straße Primary School Support Association, Greens, SPD, ÖDP and FDP.

“Other clubs want to take part, but don’t appear on the posters because the 10,000 flyers are already printed,” says city councilor Brigitte Huber (Greens), who initiated the founding of the alliance and as well as third mayor Annegret Harms (SPD). is one of the organizers.

CSU does not take part in the demo

In addition to Mayor Christoph Böck, Pastor Mirjam Pfeiffer as well as Sina Fateminejad and Katja Ojala-Kocak will appear as speakers.

Musicians from the town band and a band make music.

The alliance is supported by many, says Huber, “with the parties staying in the background.”

Merlin Kornherr from Fridays For Future registered the demo with the district office.

Police Chief Stefan Schraut was informed from there about another demonstration “Against fascism and agitation, together against the AfD”, which is planned from 5.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the town hall square.

The police are not allowed to reveal who organizes them.

By the way, the CSU and the Free Citizenship were also invited to the action alliance, which was initially called “Together against the right”.

The city councilors Stefan Krimmer (CSU) and Martin Reichart (FB) therefore decided against it, said Huber.

Krimmer tells the press: The CSU welcomes any position against right-wing extremism, but criticizes the motto “against the right”.

“This linguistic vagueness is capable of defaming and devaluing conservative positions as well as snubbing voters in the center-right spectrum.

This drives them to the AfD.” The alliance accepted the criticism and called itself “Unterschleißheim is colorful for democracy and diversity”.

Krimmer sticks to his non-participation: “We have now voted on it that way.”

In any case, Brigitte Huber is pleased that, after district towns such as Dachau, Miesbach and Wolfratshausen, a broad alliance is now protesting against right-wing extremism in a district municipality for the first time in Unterschleißheim.
