Sergeant Yonatan Ron, who was seriously injured during an operation in Jenin and lost his leg, got to meet his dog Arthur today (Wednesday), after a long month and a half of hospitalization.



Yonatan was injured during an operational activity in the Jenin refugee camp on January 6. During the operation, The operational vehicle in which Yonatan and three other fighters were was damaged by a bomb placed on their way. As a result of the explosion of the bomb, female soldier Shay Garmai was killed, and the other two fighters were lightly and moderately wounded.

An IDF aircraft that assisted in their rescue, eliminated six terrorists who threw explosives at the forces.



Since his injury, Yonatan has been undergoing massive rehabilitation at Rambam Hospital in Haifa, which included several surgeries.

Throughout that month and a half, in which he did not leave the medical institution, the thing he looked forward to the most was meeting his dog Arthur.

"I grew up with Arthur, he is a dog with a soul. Everyone who sees him immediately smiles," Yonatan said about his beloved dog, adding, "He is the reason I was so stressed to get home from rehabilitation. The family was with me in the hospital but the dog is at home."

Yonatan, a medic by profession, said that he was fully conscious throughout his evacuation from the scene of the explosion, and even instructed the paramedics who treated him where to place the tourniquet. Very relaxed, I felt confident.
