Amigos singer Karl-Heinz Ulrich recently lost his wife Doris.
The pop star now publicly says goodbye in an emotional obituary.
Villingen - For the Amigos, the year began with a severe blow of fate: pop singer Karl-Heinz Ulrich (75) and his wife Doris (†71) were married for 44 years - until cancer took the musician's wife out of her life in February 2024.
The pain of saying goodbye is correspondingly great.
Amigos remember Karl-Heinz's deceased wife with an emotional obituary
Karl-Heinz's brother Bernd Ulrich (73), the other half of the Amigos, was also devastated after his sister-in-law's death.
“There were always four of us.
How much we laughed when we were out and about…” he said in an interview with
bild.de
, deeply shocked.
He supports his brother as best he can during these difficult weeks.
In the meantime, Doris' survivors have also posted an obituary notice, which appeared in the
Gießener Allgemeine Zeitung
on February 10th .
The obituary is also available online via
mittelhessen-gedenkt.de
.
On the website, users can light virtual candles to commemorate the deceased.
Fans of the Amigos, but also friends, expressed their sympathy there in more than a dozen condolences.
Karl-Heinz Ulrich says goodbye to his Doris with Amigos lyrics
The obituary itself contains slightly modified lyrics by the Amigos.
“Land Hinterm Wind” (2000) is over 20 years old, but the emotional lines seem more relevant than ever: “You left, unfortunately much too soon.
There were still questions, but we never found out.
The time with all of us was wonderful.
But we have one consolation: we will see you again,” says the emotional hit.
“We (…) thank you for what you have been for us,” the song’s lyrics also say.
In addition to Karl-Heinz and his brother Bernd, other parts of the family also say goodbye.

The public memorial service including the burial itself took place on Wednesday (February 14th) at 2:00 p.m. in Villingen in central Hesse, the hometown of the Amigos.
What will happen next for the hit duo is still entirely unclear given the tragic loss.
"Karl-Heinz Ulrich can't imagine being on stage again yet, but he knows: 'Doris loved that, exactly that life,'" said the group via Instagram.
Once again, the music world is in deep mourning - as it has been many times before: these pop singers met their tragic deaths.
