In the last weeks of the “fifth season”, the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South carried out numerous traffic checks.
However, most drivers behaved reasonably and were not “in a daze” behind the wheel.
For some, however, the celebrations ended with the surrender of their driving license, fines and sometimes long driving bans.
District - As the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters reports, a total of 11,551 road users were checked in the last four weeks in the area of responsibility (9 districts and the city of Rosenheim).
The main focus was on possible alcohol or drug consumption.
Breath alcohol or drug preliminary tests were carried out on 4,331 vehicle drivers.
136 of these preliminary tests were positive.
The suspicion that there were drivers among them who had drunk more than the legal limit was thus confirmed.
For drivers with a blood alcohol content of more than 1.1, this resulted in a criminal complaint and the revocation of their driving license.
Less heavily intoxicated drivers with a lower blood alcohol level (0.5 to 1.09 per mille) got away with a fine and a driving ban.
The absolute peak this year was 2.78 per mille.
In 35 cases it was found that people were driving under the influence of drugs.
20 driving license holders were lucky and were checked before they started driving.
All they had to do was hand over their car keys and get away with a written warning.
43 traffic accidents were reported in which the drivers responsible were drunk.
She now expects a criminal complaint for endangering road traffic as a result of alcohol, which will result in a fine and a long loss of her driving license.
