The Reporters Without Borders association asked the Audiovisual Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom, formerly CSA) to put CNews on notice to respect the pluralism and independence of information.
The association considered the diversity of points of view expressed on CNews to be insufficient, particularly during debates on controversial issues.
She also maintained that, due to the interventions of its main shareholder, CNews did not respect the obligation of independence of information.
In accordance with its constant doctrine regarding the pluralism of audiovisual political information, Arcom considered that it should only take into account, to assess CNews' respect for this pluralism, the speaking times of political figures.
