Two people traveling in a taxi in the southern area of Rosario were
shot dead
this Tuesday night in a very confusing episode.
The authorities are investigating whether it was a robbery, a contract crime or a settling of scores.
The episode occurred after 9 p.m. on 4,000 Chacabuco Street, in the La Tablada neighborhood, where the two victims lost their lives after being attacked when
they were traveling in a rental vehicle
from the town of San Lorenzo.
According to local media, the victims are
the taxi driver and his passenger
, who was located in the rear sector.
Witnesses stated that “they heard about ten shots.”
The attackers escaped on foot, according to the version of some neighbors, after carrying out their objective in an area where lighting was scarce.
Personnel worked at the scene, waiting for the Investigative Police (PDI) and the prosecutor on duty.
During the past week, other violent and insecurity events shook Rosario.
The first of them took place ten days ago, when an 84-year-old man stopped at a traffic light and they beat him to death to steal his truck.
The victim was with his partner when he stopped on Mendoza and Río de Janeiro streets, in the Echesortu neighborhood, in the western area of Rosario.
But while he was waiting for the signal to pass, a criminal violently approached him to steal his Ford EcoSport.
The aggression was so strong that he was beaten to death.
The murderer managed to take the vehicle and escape.
On Tuesday, meanwhile, the headquarters of the Investigative Police in the city of Rosario was attacked by gunfire and three teenagers were detained while they escaped.
Two days later, violence was present again in Rosario with a shooting in the parking lot of the Geriatric Hospital.
A man entered there on a motorcycle and shot at an employee's car, leaving an intimidating note before leaving the scene, in the midst of a series of attacks on public offices and private homes that have occurred recently.
The incident happened after noon, when there was a change of personnel at the hospital located at 141 Ayolas Street, in the south of the city of Santa Fe, plagued by drug crime.
