Twelve people were injured in a fire explosion in a residential building.
Hilzingen - Twelve people were injured, five of them seriously, in a deflagration in a semi-detached house in Hilzingen.
On Tuesday evening around 9 p.m., emergency services and rescue services in the Konstanz district (Baden-Württemberg) were alerted.

“When the first fire brigade arrived, the fire had already been extinguished by residents,” the Hilzingen fire department said on Facebook.
Numerous injured people were already standing in front of the property when the rescue workers arrived.
The cause of the explosion is still unclear - police express suspicion
It is initially unclear how the deflagration could have occurred.

The investigation into this is ongoing.
The fire brigade from Hilzingen and neighboring Singen were on site with 45 emergency services, along with numerous police and rescue workers.

Deflagration in Hilzingen: rescue helicopter in action for seriously injured people
A helicopter landing site was illuminated near the scene of the accident.
Seriously injured people were transported to special clinics in rescue helicopters, the police said on Wednesday morning.
A total of five helicopters were used for this purpose.
Seven other people were slightly injured and were taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
