Howard Carpendale can now look back on a great and successful career.
But the pop singer is no longer proud of all of his songs today.
Cologne - Howard Carpendale (78) has become an integral part of the pop scene.
His hits such as “Ti amo” (1977) and “Hello Again” (1984) are still very popular today.
Carpendale can now claim almost 40 studio albums.
But is the German-South African musician still proud of all his productions today?
In an interview with “Express”, the 78-year-old talks about a song that he now finds “embarrassing and stupid”.
He can no longer remember the title, only “the terrible quatrain that I had to sing”.
It went something like: “At least because I’m a wrestler and you’re an expert in every hold.”
The song was produced 50 years ago by Kurt Feltz (1910-1982), who at the time was “considered the godfather of German hits.”
In the 70s he even wrote four more songs for Carpendale.
But the pop singer obviously doesn't remember it fondly.

In contrast to his two favorite songs: “'At night, when everything is asleep', a song that was ahead of its time at the time.
It's still very touching how the audience reacts when I sing it.
The other is 'You're still here'.
Not a hit – but even now when I sing it, tears come to my eyes.”

However, the singer further emphasizes that there should not be another album after “Let’s Do It Again”.
The reason: “The time of albums is over.
This is a consequence of streaming.
People only want what they know.
They are no longer ready to hear anything new.” But he would “very much like to continue working” on stage in the future.
He will definitely remember his appearance in “Kiwi’s Big Party Night” for a long time.
