Husky “Mona” belongs to a homeless man.

In Grafing train station, the dog boarded a regional train to Munich alone.

Here the “fare evader” was handed over to its overjoyed owner.

Grafing/Munich

- At around 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13th, an initially homeless husky boarded the Regiobahn in Grafing train station.

The driver of the RB 54 took the found dog into the driver's cab and drove the friendly four-legged friend to the final stop at Munich main station, where he handed the "fare dodger" over to the federal police.

This was announced on Wednesday, February 14th.

Shortly after the dog was handed over to the police, a man appeared at the Karlsplatz (Stachus) S-Bahn stop, hysterical and screaming loudly, who was clearly in a psychological state of emergency.

The 50-year-old Romanian ran around on the platform, sometimes coming dangerously close to the edge of the platform, reports the federal police.

The apparently drunken homeless man was taken by state police officers to the federal police station on platform 26 in the main train station because he was barely able to walk.

Here the husky “Mona” clearly recognized his master, “the 50-year-old's state of mind suddenly improved,” said a federal police spokesman.

After checking the ownership claims, “Mona” and her master were able to leave the station together after a short sobering up.

In the Grafing train station, “Mona’s” leash, which was attached to one of the 50-year-old’s luggage, broke.

Before the Romanian noticed this, the dog was already on the regional train to the Bavarian capital.

The homeless man followed her and was desperately looking for “Mona” on Karlsplatz (Stachus).

“Thanks to good communication from the state and federal police, the animal operation ended around 9:30 a.m. with an overjoyed dog owner leaving the station,” the federal police said in their statement.
