Depa Infrastructures (Italgas group) changes name and becomes Enaon.

This is what was announced on the occasion of the inauguration of the new headquarters in Athens.

The event will be attended by the Greek Minister of Environment Theodor Skylakakis and Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas, together with the Italian Ambassador Paolo Cuculi, the CEO of Enaon Barbara Morgante, the CEO of Italgas Paolo Gallo and the President Benedetta Navarra.

"Together - comments Gallo - we are stronger and we can make a difference for our countries towards the goal of Zero Co2".

"Biomethane - he concludes - is a reality today and hydrogen, still too expensive to produce, will be so in the future".

Enaon is the holding company of the Greek subsidiary of Italgas and Enaon Eda is the operating company.

The new name draws inspiration from the Greek word 'Aenaos' which translates into 'perennial' and 'renewable' and which, associated with the world of energy according to Italgas, "aims to represent a lasting offer, capable of satisfying the current needs and well-being of next generations".

'Ena' is also the Greek word for 'one' and recalls the union of the 3 previous operators: Eda Thess, Deda and Eda Attikis, now grouped into a single company.

Finally 'On' represents the idea of "something that is on, running".

The new name Enaon, therefore, "encloses the commitment to keeping energy in constant flow, supplying gas continuously and working to provide the country with a cutting-edge, smart and flexible infrastructure", explains Italgas.

With the new name also comes a memorandum of understanding with the Greek biomethane association Habio for the expansion of the plants in the country.

The agreement, which is valid for two years, was signed by the CEO of Enaon Barbara Morgante and the president of Habio Alexandros Yfantis.
