No return date for Monet's
“Spring”
is currently planned at the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon.
Five days after the master's painting was doused with soup by two environmental activists, the museum ensures that after an assessment, the canvas itself was not affected.
The 19th century frame which accompanied the work was damaged and will require restoration, the estimated time and amount of which is still to be determined.

Furthermore, there is no question of presenting the work with another frame for the moment, assures the museum:
“When it was purchased in 1902, it already had this frame.
It is therefore not planned to exhibit it with another
.
“Unacceptable acts”
At the start of the week, Nathalie Perrin-Gilbert, the deputy for Culture of the city of Lyon, announced that the municipality had filed a complaint against the two Riposte Alimentaire activists whose police custody was lifted after 24 hours and who asserted their right to silence.
“By opposing our common, cultural and natural goods, these young activists are fighting the wrong fight

The conviction deemed “a minimum” of Gregory Doucet had for its part aroused strong criticism from the opposition.
