NEW - The fifth generation of the famous English city car will also be available with gasoline engines.

Mini has already warned that it will only market electric vehicles in 2030. Until then, the English manufacturer will continue to offer a wide variety of engines.

This is why the new generation of its 3-door model which relaunched the brand in 2001 will only be available in an electric version.

Mini has just unveiled its range which will also be based, initially, around the Cooper and Cooper S versions. While the style follows that of the electric model presented a few weeks ago, with the exception of the grille which adopts a grille to cool the engine, the new Mini remains faithful to the 3-cylinder for the Cooper.

By changing generation, this 1.5 liter engine gains 20 horsepower to display a power of 156 horsepower.

Performance progresses logically.

On the exercise from 0 to 100 km/h, the Cooper gains 0.5 seconds (7.7 seconds).

Consumption is 5.9 l/100 km, which represents CO2 emissions of 133 g/km.

For its part, the Cooper S version still relies on a 4-cylinder turbo.

It now delivers 204 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, which means it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.

Consumption is approved at 6.1 l/100 km, or CO2 emissions of 138 g/km.

Inside, the Mini Cooper and Cooper S inherit the new sleek dashboard.

It is covered in a two-tone textile and incorporates a new steering wheel and the 240 mm circular central screen reminiscent of a 33 rpm record.

The rear seat can be folded in a 60/40 ratio.

Four finishes will be offered: Essential, Classic, Favored and JCW.

The new Mini Cooper and Cooper S will be launched in spring 2024 from 29,500 euros and 33,500 euros respectively.
