There are some vacancies in the Plieningen town hall.

The municipality of Pliening lacks staff.
There are currently nine open positions advertised.
One effect of the emergency: the renovation of the elementary school will probably be delayed.
Pliening - From the building authority to the residents' registration office, from the building yard to a training position: the municipality of Pliening has recently advertised nine positions in different areas.
The staffing level in the administration is very thin for various reasons - in addition to the shortage of skilled workers across the country, there is also the professional reorientation of some employees and a restructuring in the town hall, explain Mayor Roland Frick and town hall manager Gabriele Jung.
The legal and technical construction administration will be merged.
Poing: Merger in construction administration
After the departure of building authority manager Martin Schmidt-Roschow, some tasks would be redistributed - accordingly, some previous positions would be set up differently.
For example, the municipality of Pliening is looking for a clerk (part-time) for the awarding of civil engineering measures as well as a construction technician (full-time) specializing in structural engineering.
(Note: Of course, all positions are advertised as male, female and diverse.)
The municipality of Pliening has to offer part-time and full-time positions as well as a trainee position as an administrative assistant from September 1st.
None of these are new positions, but rather ones that already exist in the position plan.
Pliening: 7 vacancies in administration, 2 in the building yard
The administration has a total of 21 employees in the town hall and 10 in the building yard.
At the New Year's reception, Mayor Roland Frick drew attention to the currently tense personnel situation.
Despite the many vacancies, he now said in an interview with our newspaper: “We are still able to act.” The town hall has to and wants to be, after all, major projects are currently underway such as the renovation of the old school in Gelting and the construction of the senior housing complex in Pliening and the Construction of two apartment buildings in social housing in Landsham.
It's never boring in the municipality of Pliening.
Pliening primary school: renovation will probably be delayed
And the next major project is already waiting: the comprehensive renovation of the elementary school.
However, this will take years, not least due to the personnel situation, as Mayor Frick says.
“I feel sorry for myself.” In June 2021, the local council decided by a large majority that the building would be completely renovated.
The cost estimate at the time was around 15 million euros.
An alternative would have been to tear down the building (the old building dates back to the 1960s) and build a new one.
According to the feasibility study commissioned by the municipality, this would have amounted to around 22.4 million euros.
According to the experts at the time, with a general renovation the school would be “set to zero”, i.e. like new.

Even if it is currently not foreseeable when the detailed planning for the renovation as well as the work itself will begin, according to Frick, the municipality will at least take a first, necessary step: create space for all-day care in the elementary school.
From August 1, 2026, a legal right to all-day care for children of primary school age will be gradually introduced nationwide, initially for first graders in the 2026/27 school year.
