There was a lot going on in the forest.

Isen - There was great interest in the information event organized by the Forest Owners' Association (WBV) Erding and the social insurance for agriculture, forestry and horticulture in Isen.

Forestry master Hans Staudinger impressively showed over 60 participants the dangers of clearing snow.

With practical demonstrations, he demonstrated how good planning, correct felling cutting techniques and the safe use of winches reduce the risk of injury.

Christian Satzl finally discussed the necessary protective equipment and made the seriousness of the situation clear with the current number of accidents in December alone.

Together with WBV forester Peter Kellner, he appealed to the participants not to take any risks in situations that were too confusing or too large amounts of damaged wood and to let professionals take care of it.

The use of harvesters is the best way to avoid accidents.

The WBV organizes snow clearing across the district with forestry companies.

Kellner presented the current status and discussed the stable prices on the timber market.

At the final meeting, the participants were able to warm up with coffee and pastries in the Kern family's farm.

The next event will take place this Friday, February 16th, at the Reiter family in Hinterholzhausen 1, in the municipality of Langenpreising.

The program from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. includes, among other things: correctly assessing trees under tension, radio cable winches and their dangers, pulleys, belts, chains - what do I have to pay attention to, Flemish eye, rope crimping, Königsbronn slinging technology, standard felling technology and what to do when cordoning off of forest roads must be taken into account.

All forest owners are invited.

Weatherproof clothing is recommended; a forestry helmet is mandatory.

Participation in the event is free.
