A 23-year-old man was killed by gunfire Tuesday evening around 9:40 p.m. in Nangis, in the Mare-aux-Curées district.
Firefighters called to the scene were unable to save the victim.
According to initial testimonies, the murder occurred in the stairwell of a building in this sensitive neighborhood.
On site, a group of several dozen people was observed, but there was no incident.
According to the public prosecutor of Melun, Jean-Michel Bourlès, “the victim was known for narcotics”.
Is this a settling of scores?
It is too early to certify this.
The gendarmes from the Paris research section are responsible for the investigation.
An autopsy must be carried out on the victim's body to find out, in particular, the number of bullets he received.
According to initial evidence, she was shot in the head.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time that a young man from this town of around 8,500 inhabitants has been struck by a tragedy of this nature.
Less than a year ago, in April 2023, Sydney, 22, described as a boy with no history, was found dead in his car parked not far from the family home, located in a residential area.
He had been shot and killed.
There too, the investigation was entrusted to the gendarmes of the Paris research section.
