An 18-year-old was seriously injured on Sunday in Planegger Bahnhofstrasse.
The Munich police headquarters announced this on Tuesday.
The responsible police station is looking for witnesses to the dangerous bodily harm.
The incident occurred after the carnival procession ended.
Planegg
- The carnival procession, which attracted 10,000 spectators, started on Sunday shortly after 2 p.m. in Krailling near the brewery and then moved with its 38 groups towards Planegger Bahnhofstrasse, where the spectators crowded behind barriers along the route.
At around 5 p.m., when the train had already ended, according to organizer Matthias Niedermair, an 18-year-old living in the Munich district got into an argument with two unknown people on Bahnhofstrasse.
During the argument, one of the two men hit him in the face with his fist.
The second one then also punched him in the face.
The perpetrators were able to escape undetected.
The 18-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Commissariat 25 of the Munich criminal police, which is responsible for bodily harm crimes, is conducting the investigation.
The police headquarters is appealing to the public for witnesses.
One of the perpetrators is described as being between 20 and 25 years old, around 1.85 meters tall, with a strong, muscular build and short brown hair.
He was wearing a black sweater, black vest with “FBI” printed on the back, long black pants and black shoes.
The second perpetrator is also said to be between 20 and 25 years old.
He was also dressed in dark clothing.
The police are asking anyone who saw anything in the Planegger Bahnhofstrasse area during the specified period on Sunday that could be related to the incident to come forward.
Anyone who can provide relevant information should contact the Munich Police Headquarters, Commissariat 25, on 2910-0 or any other police station.
