The International Committee of the Red Cross published a statement today (Thursday) in which it expressed concern for the lives and well-being of the hostages held in Gaza for more than four months.
Along with this, it was said in the announcement that the Red Cross "recognizes the reality" in which the release of the abductees is not expected "in the absence of a political agreement".
"Such political agreements are often the only way to deal with ongoing cycles of violence," it said.
In its announcement, the organization emphasized that taking hostages is strictly prohibited under international humanitarian law, and that from day one it called publicly and behind closed doors for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages.
He also stated that from the very first day he asked to be allowed to visit the hostages, check their condition, provide them with medical treatment, and allow them a channel of communication with their families.
