A 200-year-old oak tree in Regenstauf was deliberately poisoned and had to be felled.
The perpetrator remains unknown so far.
Regenstauf – In Regenstauf, in the Regensburg district, a 200-year-old oak tree was deliberately poisoned.
As police reported on Monday, February 12, five holes were drilled into the tree's trunk and an unknown toxin was discharged, causing the oak to die and its subsequent felling.

It still remains to be clarified to what extent the surrounding nature was affected by this act.
The 53-year-old owner of the forest area where the oak tree stood reported the incident to the police on Friday.
The as yet unknown perpetrator probably drilled the holes over the past month.
The police initially launched an investigation into property damage.
The damage caused is estimated at around 3,000 euros.
