American Defense Minister Lloyd Austin was released on Tuesday February 13 from the hospital in the suburbs of Washington where he had been admitted two days earlier for a bladder problem, the Pentagon announced.
Lloyd Austin, whose state of health is under scrutiny after several hospitalizations for prostate cancer kept secret,
"is recovering well and returned to full duty at 5:00 p.m.
(22:00 GMT)," the Ministry of Health said. Defense in a press release.
The minister
“will recover and work remotely for a time before returning to the Pentagon later in the week”
.
The 70-year-old minister was admitted to an intensive care unit on Sunday and underwent a procedure under general anesthesia.
According to his doctors, this bladder problem should not influence the prognosis for treatment of his cancer which
“remains excellent”
.
