The Vice President of the Nation,
Victoria Villarruel
, announced this Wednesday that she appointed the journalist
Nicolás Kasanzew
, remembered for his coverage as a correspondent in the
Falkland Islands war
, to perform duties
in a direction within the Senate
.
Kasanzew will serve as head of the
Malvinas Gesta Directorate
, Villarruel announced through a publication on social networks, in which he appeared with the journalist in his office.
"We welcome Nicolás Kasanzew to the Senate of the Nation as head of the Malvinas Gesta Directorate. We are very proud that the
most recognized
war correspondent in the Malvinas conflict collaborates so that we recover our history and
recognize our heroes
," Villarruel posted.
His work in the war made Kasanzew a reference for ex-combatants and in 1990 he left Argentina to work
in Miami
, where he spent
17 years
in Spanish-speaking media such as Telemundo, Univisión, CNN and NBC.
His work on the documentary "The New Russia" earned him an Emmy Award nomination in 1991.
