A man apparently attacked several people in Graben-Neudorf at random on Tuesday afternoon.
At least four people were injured.
The motive is currently unclear and the perpetrator is on the run.
Graben-Neudorf – A man apparently attacked several people at random on Tuesday afternoon (February 13) in Graben-Neudorf in the Karlsruhe district.
The crime scenes: First the train station, then a supermarket.
At least four people were injured in the attacks in and in front of the store, as
Südwestrundfunk (SWR)
reported on Wednesday.
The police initially did not release any details about the incident; the motives are still unclear - and the perpetrator is on the run.
Violent crime in Graben-Neudorf: Several assault offenses, one victim treated in hospital
A police spokeswoman said about the case on Wednesday morning that the perpetrator committed several “assault crimes”.
There was initially no further information.
According to initial findings, the alleged perpetrator initially attacked people in the area of the Graben-Neudorf train station, and later continued his series of violence in front of and in a supermarket.
The man did not have a weapon, but at least one person had to be treated in hospital after the attack, as
SWR
reported.
The other victims were “rather slightly injured,” it said.
While

spoke of at least four people being injured, the
dpa
news agency put the number of injured people at at least two and others “otherwise injured”.
After several physical injuries in Graben-Neudorf: perpetrator steals car and flees
After attacking and injuring several people, the perpetrator is said to have violently stolen a passerby's car key and then fled in the car.
So far the police have not been able to apprehend the suspect.
On Tuesday afternoon, the officers launched a large-scale manhunt and searched for the suspected perpetrator - also using a helicopter.
The man had disappeared from the face of the earth and the search for him was continuing, a police spokesman said on Wednesday morning, according to
SWR
.
According to police, the motive for the crime is still completely unclear.
However, an act under the influence of alcohol or drugs, in a psychological state of emergency or any other motive would be conceivable, it said.
There was also recently a hostage-taking in a pharmacy in the Karlsruhe district.
And in Ulm, a man held six people hostage in a store.
