The Israel Defense Forces will practice taking over terrorists who have infiltrated Ta'anak settlements/ Israel Police spokeswoman
On the morning of Friday, October 6, a bullet was fired from the territory of the Palestinian Authority towards Moshav Ram-On in the Ha'anach settlement zone, which shattered a bedroom window above a baby's bed while he was sleeping and came out unharmed.
To the contrary, the events of October 7 took place in the settlements of the Western Negev, and the shooting at the moshav in Gilboa is seen today as a minor event that happened in another era.
However, it was precisely the disaster in the south that sharpened the settlements near the separation fence in Emakim and Gilboa that they must prepare for a similar scenario or as the commander of YSM Emakim, Major General Timor Yagodaev, said: "After October 7th, no scenario is imaginary anymore and at any moment something can happen.
We are on operational alert and must be ready."

To understand the sensitivity in the area, last night (Wednesday) terrorists again shot at a house in Kibbutz Merav in Gilboa - there were no casualties.
The increase in shootings towards the kibbutz and past and beyond Gilboa make it clear how explosive the situation is, and in light of this, the residents of Kibbutz Merav tried to reach the Palestinian village of Gilbon, from where the bullets were fired.
In view of this understanding, the unit under the command of Chief Inspector Yagodaev conducted an exercise this week that simulated the infiltration of terrorists into settlements in the Ta'anak area.
"This is an event that is not detached from reality," said Yegodaev and mentioned that in 2003, terrorists infiltrated Moshav Gadish and murdered a resident.
By the way, in the same event that unfolded there, Kobi Shabtai, who currently serves as the police commissioner, and Amos Ya'akov, the commander of the border guard and the Hoof and Shi'a districts, participated.

The exercise simulated the infiltration of terrorists - breaking through the Jalma checkpoint with cars and at the same time the arrival of a squad of terrorists towards Moshavi Hatanach through the separation fence which is only about two hundred meters away from some Moshavim.
In total, the police officers had to arrive at four different scenes where there were eight terrorists, among others at a gas station, a student bus station and inside the settlements
.
The first to encounter terrorists are the soldiers of the standby units, in addition there are MDA teams and IDF forces.
All the forces need to be brought together and it's complex," said Chief Inspector Yagodaev.
"The mosvei Ha'anach and the kibbutzim in Gilboa are really close to the fence and this is a super sensitive situation," added Chief Inspector Yagodaev. "The spring is tense and we are on operational alert with the understanding that something could happen at any moment.
Our transition from routine to emergency has to be very quick because we don't have much time, for example, traveling from Jalma crossing to the center of Afula is about ten minutes."

He noted that in recent months his unit was equipped with weapons that they did not have before, such as Negev and Mag machine guns.
"If until four months ago our main mission was to act in disturbances, now we are aiming to act as the first unit to respond to an incident along the seam line, and we need to be ready for that," said Yegodaev.
