After a long break, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” finally returned on February 12, 2024.
However, a lot went wrong - much to the chagrin of Günther Jauch.
Cologne – Landing on the famous quiz chair opposite Günther Jauch (67) in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”, answering all the questions and going home with a million euros at the end: That is the goal of every candidate.
But to do this, the selection question must first be answered correctly.
On Monday evening, all four remaining “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidates failed.
And then Günther Jauch also has to deal with a glitch when it comes to the question of replacement.

"Arrange these films in ascending order according to their FSK rating for children and young people - A: ET - The Extra-Terrestrial, B: Forrest Gump, C: Kill Bill - Volume 1 and D: Frozen", seems too difficult for the remaining four " Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidate.
So a replacement question has to be asked, which this time pushes Günther Jauch to his limits.
Because the moderator reads out one question, but another one is displayed and the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” candidates have completely different questions on their screens.
“That doesn’t suit me,” complains one candidate.
Another, visibly irritated, notes: “I have a completely different one.”

“That’s great, great.
Those are two questions now.
The ones we just portrayed and the ones we can no longer use because it was already displayed on them,” Günther Jauch complains, frustrated, with his candidates and the director.
“You just didn’t know something…Everywhere you look, loser.”

The quiz show has been licensed in over 100 countries worldwide, including Albania, Austria, Belgium, Turkey, the Netherlands, Italy, Vietnam, Poland, Portugal and Switzerland.
The program sequence, the optics and the music are often almost identical.

The RTL team assures us over the loudspeaker that things can now continue as usual.
And actually: The next selection question is displayed correctly again for everyone.
Rick Leinichen (30) is the quickest to put all the answers in the correct order, sits in the chair in the middle and takes home an impressive 32,000 euros.

Speaking of the breakdown on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”: Because he was busy chatting with his candidate, Günther Jauch forgot the most important thing on the RTL quiz show: the solution to the 125,000 euro question.
