A 27-year-old has been stalking his ex-girlfriend for months.
Lurking at her over and over again, before work, at home.
Now the man had to answer for this in the district court.
Dachau – Difficulty sleeping, fear of going out the door, fear of the phone ringing, or feeling like you are being followed.
A young woman from Dachau had to go through all of this because her ex-boyfriend harassed her for months.
The 27-year-old now had to answer for stalking at the Dachau district court.
However, the trial took place without him.
“He had written down the wrong day,” he explained to his lawyer over the phone.
Thanks to the power of attorney, she was able to represent him at the general meeting.
From the Dachau District Court: 27-year-old stalks ex-girlfriend
What the defendant's ex-girlfriend (27) described in court was like a nightmare: he separated from her in June last year.
But then he doesn't want to accept the end of the relationship and really wants her back.
He stalks her at home, again and again.
Sitting in the communal garden of the apartment building where she lives, she watches in front of her workplace, stands in front of her house with his car.
The whole thing happens so often that the young woman turns to her neighbor.
Asks her to tell her when the coast is clear so she can leave the house safely.
The neighbor also described in court how depressing the situation had been for several months.
“He was there at least once a week,” which put a lot of strain on her friend and therefore changed her: “She became very anxious and was always careful when going out.”
Stalker bombards ex-girlfriend with calls and messages
What the ex-girlfriend's statement shows: The man not only ambushed her, he also terrorized her with calls - some with suppressed numbers - and "millions of messages", as she said.
She repeatedly asked him to stop, but he ignored her pleas to “please just let her be.”
She blocked his phone number and blocked him from all messaging services.
But he continued to seek her closeness.
I felt threatened, afraid that he would hurt me.
Stalking victims in court
During a “final clarifying conversation in a café “so that I didn’t have to be alone with him,” she made it clear to him: “If you don’t leave me alone, I’ll have to go to the police.”
But he just said: “Then go,” and: “It won’t end well.”
The 27-year-old explained in court: “I felt threatened, I was afraid that he would do something to me.” However, he never became violent.

When the situation didn't improve for months, she finally went to the police.
Despite the fears, despite the sleepless nights, she didn't show any excessive eagerness to take the pressure in court: "I didn't want to report him, but he gave me no other choice."
He now realizes that this was completely the wrong way to show it.
Defender
The defense attorney explained that her client was in an exceptional situation.
Shortly before he met the woman from Dachau, his father died in a particularly tragic way.
“That still weighs heavily on him today,” explained the defense attorney.
His ex-girlfriend was always his support and he didn't want to lose her.
“It’s clear to him now that this was completely the wrong way to show it.”
The judge, prosecutor and defense attorney agree to discontinue proceedings
The only good news: According to the woman from Dachau, things have actually been quiet for a few months now.
In the end, the judge, prosecutor and defense attorney agreed to temporarily stop the proceedings against certain conditions.
On the one hand, the defendant must adhere to a six-month ban on contact, and on the other hand, the social welfare recipient must pay 600 euros to the Dachau women's shelter.
Towards the end, the judge wants to know whether the 27-year-old's attitude is okay and whether she can accept the apology that the defense attorney made for her client.
Both seemed absolutely irrelevant to the woman from Dachau – under one condition.
Only one thing seemed important to her: “That he just leave me alone”!
