Dramatic days lie behind the Zeiler family.

After the fire in her photo studio in Erding, there was a lot to sort out.

A temporary home has now been found.

Erding – Almost two weeks have passed since there was a fire in the Zeiler photo studio on Zollnerstrasse in Erding (we reported).

It was thanks to an attentive passer-by that the fire, which broke out in a shop window shortly after 8 a.m. on a Saturday, was discovered and extinguished so quickly.

“A huge piece of luck,” as business owner Sabine Zeiler-Babisch said in an interview with our newspaper.

She says that the woman withdrew money from the VR Bank across the street and then saw that it was on fire.

She also called the police and fire department and rang the bell for the landlords on the second floor.

The photographer, her family and the employees are still in deep shock.

Because “everything is broken.

In principle it is a total loss.” There was a fire in the shop window area, the remaining damage was caused by heat, smoke and soot.

The cause of the fire is probably a technical defect in a cable; human error can be ruled out.

“On the one hand, I am relieved that no one is to blame.

On the other hand, it is worrying that it can happen like this,” says Zeiler-Babisch.

Fortunately, only the shop on the ground floor was affected, the landlord's apartment on the attic was not.

The security door that leads into the backyard also held.

It's unimaginable if that hadn't been the case.

For the photographer, the most important thing is that “no one was hurt.”

The police have now released the building and fire investigators and experts have been on site.

The businesswoman is currently in the process of creating an inventory list for the insurance company.

The collaboration works excellently.

That feels good after those nerve-wracking and extremely stressful days that Zeiler-Babisch describes on social networks.

And: “Slowly there is light at the end of the tunnel again.”

Even though the renovation work will take several months, the photo studio can continue its work in a timely manner - and continue to do so on Zollnerstrasse.

From March 1st it can be found diagonally opposite in the former premises of the Wild company.

“We asked the family and they immediately said yes,” says Zeiler-Babisch happily.

In general, she is overwhelmed by the signs of helpfulness that she received from not only family and friends.

Many long-established Erdinger business people also reached out and offered their support.

One of Zeiler-Babisch's passions is wedding photography.

This is not affected because these are external appointments, “we don’t need a studio.”

The season for this starts in March.

The businesswoman was also lucky that the data from photos that had already been taken, including wedding photos, could be backed up.

“Thank God the external hard drive survived.

“It was a huge weight lifted from my heart,” she admits.

A camera and spare lamps for the studio that were stored externally can still be used.
