During the past carnival weeks, the police in the district checked a total of 1,644 road users.
The number of violations was limited.
District
- The main focus of the traffic checks was on possible previous alcohol or drug consumption, according to a press release from the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters.
The officers carried out 564 alcohol or drug tests, and in eight cases the road users had to expect consequences.
Three car journeys prevented before the start
Six drunk driving cases were misdemeanors (0.5 to 1.09 per mille), and in one case a criminal offense was committed.
The driver had 1.4 per mille of alcohol in his blood.
It was the highest value measured during the controls.
A driver also has to answer for driving under the influence of drugs.
For drivers with an absolute driving impairment of more than 1.1 per mille, this will result in a criminal complaint and the revocation of their driving license.
Alcohol drivers with a lower blood alcohol content (0.5 to 1.09 per mille) get away with a fine and a driving ban.
Three driving license holders were lucky and were checked before they intended to drive.
All they had to do was hand over their car keys and get away with another written warning.
The leader in the presidential area had 2.78 per mille
A total of 11,551 road users were checked in the past four weeks in the police headquarters' area of responsibility, which includes nine districts and the city of Rosenheim.
Breath alcohol or drug preliminary tests were carried out on 4,331 vehicle drivers.
136 of these preliminary tests were positive.
“The absolute peak this year was a frightening 2.78 per thousand,” said the police.
