Domestic political pressure on Arab allies of the USA is growing.

Now some countries are placing restrictions on military facilities on their territory.

Abu Dhabi – The pressure on Arab allies of the USA is growing.

While Washington has stationed thousands of troops on the territory of its partners in the Middle East, the war in Israel is increasing the population's rejection of the West.

Some countries, including the United Arab Emirates, are now restricting US military operations from their territory.

Specifically, they want to prevent the United States from carrying out air strikes on groups close to Iran from its soil.

The news about the restriction on the use of US military facilities was published by the daily newspaper

Politico

.

Four informants from the military and politics, who wished to remain anonymous, provided information about the restrictions on US military bases.

Attacks against targets in Iraq, Syria or the Red Sea are intended to be made more difficult for the USA by restricted access to military facilities, said one of the informants.

The USA has stationed its troops in military facilities in addition to the United Arab Emirates in Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.

Since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas war, these bases have gained in strategic value.

US President Joe Biden has ordered several missile and air strikes against militias supported by Iran in recent weeks.

Among other things, the situation worsened in the Red Sea, where Houthi rebels repeatedly attacked Western merchant ships.

Arab allies of the USA between alliance interests, Iran and domestic politics

For the Arab countries they will be a test.

On the one hand, as an ally they want to support the USA in its ongoing fight against pro-Iranian terrorist groups such as the Houthi rebels.

On the other hand, the restrictions against the US military show the desire not to anger Iran.
