Warmongers, heretics, coalitions: with Father Paetz, everyone gets their fill.

The cabaret artist was now performing in Waakirchen.

Waakirchen – The times when Holger Paetz came to Waakirchen for the test run of his penance and fasting sermon “Fear!” before he performed it in the venerable Passau Executioner’s House are long gone.

The Waakirchner cabaret stage is one of the cabaret artist's fixed and favorite top dates due to our connection: In this 2024 sermon season it was the ninth appearance, which will be followed by 20 more including the executioner's house by the end of March - including in Holzkirchen (February 18th). .

On Shrove Tuesday, Paetz read for the seventh time at the Waakirchner cabaret, again at the Sportheim am Krai and again at the Hoppebräu strong beer tapping.

And as expected, it went like clockwork, which wasn't just because of the bock beer.

With increasing organ music and three church candles that he lit, Father Paetz invited the 110 spectators for the all-round blow: “Donate generously and reverently.

Give me your faith.

Because believing does not mean knowing,” he began, already announcing that this time his aim would be to expose political lies and rumors.

But first he devoted himself to moving topics of the time: the Christmas speech by Federal President Steinmeier and the farewell to Franz Beckenbauer.

His delicate playing was due to can kicking in the post-war period.

The fact that there are no longer any real ball artists like Beckenbauer today is also the Greens' fault, he said ironically.

They finally introduced the can deposit.

Then Paetz got serious: “War everywhere!” he complained, complained about the “war weariness” of the German people when it came to Ukraine and described Hamas as a religious group of murderers.

But he not only condemned the massacre in October 2023, but also its assessment by the world: "Diplomacy is the first thing that comes to mind when children have been burned or young people - all religiously protected - were shot at a music festival," he said he.

And Greta Thunberg?

Speaking of the war crimes committed by the Israelis, he shook his head and recited the first of his poems: “Dear God, don’t you want to travel?”

In addition to the poetic, onomatopoeic rhymes, ballads and songs - sometimes sung, sometimes rapped, sometimes performed in stand-up style - the individual topics and biting arguments came to a head again and again in a brilliant manner.

Paetz was looking for the culprit for the climate crisis.

In doing so, he not only took up the cause of climate activists and postulated that climate-damaging subsidies must be abolished, but also pointed out the German nation of tax evaders, who bypass the tax authorities by 50 billion euros every year.

Of course, there was a swipe about the evaded 7.8 million euros from the Corona mask deal for Andrea Tandler in her tax haven in Grünwald.

There was criticism of the parties and some of their representatives.

The AfD, which no longer denies climate change, but only that it is caused by people, and which wants to have identified 20 million people with a history of immigration in Germany.

“The railway transports seven million people a day.

“The matter with the foreigners would be settled in three days,” said Paetz sarcastically.

BSW, Alliance Sara Wagenknecht, sounds like an animal disease, Paetz noted.

That's why he suggested "SED - Sara's Honest Germans" as an alternative.

Former Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer (“Tolls means messing up money in CSU language”), Markus Söder (“Markus Söder’s wind turbine arithmetic looks like this: 500 plus x, it was announced, results in seven wind turbines built plus 17 planned”) , Friedrich Merz ("He spits out words like 'social tourism' and 'pull factors' uncontrollably and without context, as if he has Tourette's syndrome"), Chancellor Olaf Scholz ("For the happy one is the one who forgets that he is responsible") , Hubert Aiwanger (“Robin Hubsi, the verbal fecalist, beer tent drip and tear bag who suddenly saw himself as a victim of the leaflet affair”), Christian Lindner (“Animal-loving hunter” and “The spirit that always blocks”): They all got rid of their fat.

In the second part of his sermon, Paetz philosophized about the dominant German culture, the feeling of being German and the pride of being a German, including all the eerie nuances, before demanding at the end: “Be afraid of those who can explain everything, of indolence of the heart, of faintheartedness - but not of the preacher.

Give him cheers from overflowing hearts!” Which the 110 guests did frenetically.

And for those whose laughter got stuck in their throats, there were six more prosaic encores at the end about the important things of everyday life - like FC Bayern, crocuses and winds produced by the body.
