This was announced by Legambiente, which will be part of the Italian "delegation" - also made up of other associations including the CAI (Italian Alpine Club), the International Alliance of Inhabitants and the Cuccagna Shipyard Consortium Association - which will participate in the international event and will speak in the three sessions dedicated to theme "climate emergency and mountains in crisis" is scheduled for 16 and 17 February.


    The environmentalist association announces that it will bring some of its experiences and leading activities to the foreground - the Glacier Caravan campaign which has been monitoring the health status of Alpine glaciers for four years, the Manifesto for governance of glaciers and related resources, already signed by important glaciologists and climate experts, the annual report Nevediversa and the documentary on the agony of the Alpine glaciers - and will present a package of four proposals regarding glaciers, tourism at altitude, the importance of good adaptation practices and the issue of waste abandonment.


    Remembering that the climate emergency unites the peaks of the whole world, including the eight thousand, the NGO will propose: 1) the importance of an international alliance to combat the climate crisis and the agony of the glaciers; 2) The commitment to invest more also at international on sustainable tourism at altitude starting from that of the eight-thousanders; 3) the commitment to mutual support in the implementation of good adaptation practices; 4) launching more information and awareness campaigns also among the local communities of the eight-thousanders to raise awareness on the issue of the abandonment of waste and the importance of correct management.
