Defense Minister Guido Crosetto on Thursday left hospital after being admitted on Monday night for mild case of pericarditis or inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart.
Crosetto, 60, a bigwig in Premier Giorgia Meloni's rightwing Brothers of Italy (FdI) party, walked into the San Carlodi Nancy hospital in Rome on foot Monday night and immediately had a coronary angiography that revealed the minor issue.
"I wish to thank all the Italians for the innumerable messages of solidarity I have received in these days," said the minister, whose condition was said to be good.
