Everyone probably knows this special film character: In “Cash for Rares”, an ET figure achieved an almost out-of-this-world price.

Pulheim - Carsten Ferdinand (45) from Castrop-Rauxel has an extraterrestrial companion with him in the ZDF junk show “Bares für Rares” on Tuesday, February 13th, but he is world famous.

A character from the alien ET "I hope he finds a new home where he's as comfortable as he is with me," the 45-year-old said.

Moderator Horst Lichter, who was recently extremely impressed by a world-class senior tennis player, is amazed and jokes.

“Why didn’t you ever tell me that you had a stature made of you?

“Sensational similarity,” Lichter teases to expert Sven Deutschmanek.

Seller Carsten Ferdinand reports that he bought the figure online in 2005.

“I collect strange things and then came across ET,” says Ferdinand.

According to experts, the figure was sold as merchandising for the film “ET – The Extra-Terrestrial”.

The manufacturer is Hasbro.

“Hasbro is now one of the largest toy manufacturers in the world,” says Deutschmanek.

However, the ET figure “ET Roommate” is not a toy, but rather a piece of furniture.

This came onto the market in 1983.

The film was released in 1982.

“It’s a silent servant for the children’s room,” emphasizes the expert.

“Otherwise it doesn’t have any major functions.

You can turn your head, throw clothes over it and use it as a laundry basket or toy box through the flap on the back,” says the expert.

However, the figure cannot make noises or create the famous light effect with his finger.

The expert praises the fact that the figure shows no damage whatsoever.

The box is also there, only the original operating instructions are missing.

The seller states 500 euros as the desired price.

“Since it wasn’t a toy, the figures were sold, but not as often,” says the expert.

For this reason he estimates ET at 600 to 1000 euros.

This ET figure cannot light up with his finger.

Nevertheless, it was sought after by “Cash for Rares”.

ET also causes wide eyes in the dealer room.

“It hasn’t been in the sun for a long time,” jokes dealer Daniel Mayer.

“How did I cry at that film,” says dealer Elke Velten, reminiscing about her memories.

The popular dealers Fabian Kahl from Thuringia and Elisabeth Nüdling from Fulda (Hesse) were not there for this episode.

Friedrich Häusser makes the starting bid for the alien at 220 euros.

“Wrinkled skin like that is important to me,” jokes dealer Julian Schmitz-Avila and offers “a whopping 500 euros.”

He advises his colleague Häusser: “Better keep your money, Friedrich, and have a nice weekend!” Häusser is indignant: “What are you doing?” he asks his colleague.

ET figure delights dealers at “Cash for Rares”.

The dealers fought over the figure, the bids for Alien ET increased quickly - dealer Benjamin Leo Leo ultimately won the contract for 810 euros;

for an almost extraterrestrial price that sits in the middle of expertise.

A greyhound bronze from Art Deco recently caused enthusiasm at “Bares für Rares” despite being damaged.

The expert estimate leaves both moderator Horst Lichter and the seller speechless.
